Swirlydoos March Kit - Butterfly Whispers

Just when you thought the Swirlydoos kits couldn't get any more beautiful, along comes the March kit!  The Butterfly Whispers kit from Swirlydoos is absolutely beautiful!  The soft colors of pink, green, brown and blue make for a lovely spring palette.

This layout is based on the March sketch designed by Beggahuna.  The sketches included in the kits are always beautiful and easy to use.

The flower add on included the most beautiful prima flowers.  The bouquet in the first photo is one of Prima's newest lines.  I have bought nearly all of them!

The chipboard pieces were absolutely gorgeous.  I painted the pieces with Distress crackle paint in a soft pink.  I then inked the edges with Adirondak ink in Pool.  I added a few pearls and beautiful Prima flowers to complete this embellishment.

The stunning embellishment above by Melissa Frances is my favorite in the kit this month.  It is elegant, beautiful and just perfect for this wedding layout.  I lightly inked the pieces with Adirondak ink in Pool.  The small butterly is cut from the papers included in the kit.

Thanks for joining me today.

New My Mind's Eye - Lush

The Lush Collection (Hip & Luxurious Basics) from My Mind's Eye is absolutely beautiful!  Mini albums, chipboard alphas, brads, ribbons...you name it, they have it!  The colors are beautiful and can easily be mixed together.

I chose to use the black and soft blues from the collection to create this layout.  I can't wait to get started making cards using these beautiful papers.

The chipboard alphabets are beautiful.  I highlighted the letters with white Smooch ink.

One of my favorite product lines for flowers is Prima.  I used the new Symphony Blend Capella Blue to frame the photo.  The glass accents are also Prima.  The pretty edge was created using a Martha Stewart Crafts punch.

I will be back tomorrow with the reveal of the March kit from Swirlydoos.  It is absolutely stunning.

See you soon.

A Valentine's Thought

The day started with a beautiful breakfast and flowers waiting for me.  Lillies are my favorite. I was feeling under the weather today and missed the delivery.  The beautiful aroma from the Stock filled the air.  I closed my eyes and took a slow, deep breath.  What a beautiful morning.

As the day went on, I was still not well physically.  Instead of venturing out my husband picked up a wonderful dinner and brought it to me. We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary in June.  As my card to him read "As Time Goes By...My Love for You Grows Stronger."

Blizzard 2010!

Help! lol

We have gotten nearly three feet of snow over the last week.  Just as the snow plows came by on Monday, three days after our first storm, another storm hit us last night!

Is it spring yet?  This is crazy!

I have to clear my sidewalk because my Cuttlebug is on the way!  I have been waiting for days, tracking my package on a daily basis.  I checked this morning and my package was out for delivery at 5:50am!  I didn't think they would chance a delivery in this horrible weather. Hurray!!!  But soon my excitement turned to disappointment.  The snow began falling heavier and the winds began to blow.  I checked on my package and my delivery had been rescheduled due to inclement weather.  That's okay, I care about the safety of the driver more than anything.

How could anyone drive through this?  Yes, there is a street out there somewhere. lol.

Best Wishes Card - Graphic 45 Le' Romantique!

Wow, these papers just get prettier and prettier!  I created this card using the Le' Romantique collection from Graphic 45.  This would be beautiful for the bride-to-be.  If you are in the Chantilly, VA area the card is on display at Scrapbooks Plus with the Graphic 45 papers.

I enjoyed fussy cutting the flowers, leaves and small butterfly from the papers.  I then inked the edges with Distress Ink - Walnut Stain.  It gives such a beautiful antiqued look.  I used lots of layers to show all of the beautiful designs in the collection.

The new Prima flowers are just gorgeous.  I could honestly order one of each of their new line!  This flower is from the Ameruse Duchess Mix.

Thanks for joining me today.  Be back soon.

Le Romantique - Graphic 45

So anyone who knows me knows that I love, love, love all things Graphic 45!  The new Le Romantique collection is stunning. I have used this photo before in a layout, but the bride's mother stole it! lol.  I don't mind at all.  It gives me an excuse to use it again.

My favorite technique is fussy cutting.  The flowers that flow across the layout is one piece and was cut from the Le Romantique patterned paper.  I lightely inked the edges and accented the flowers with new Prima flowers and bling.

I have had this beautiful embellishment for a year and I finally have the perfect layout for it. I used my Fiskars tear tool to add interest to the edges.

I cut the couple from the patterned paper.  I inked the edges with Distress ink and mounted it on foam squares.

I curled the edge of the paper with my quilling tool.  I then inked it with Distress ink.

Thanks for joining me today.

Swirlydoos February Kit - "A Mother's Love"

The papers featured in the Swirlydoos February kit were beautiful.  I used the 7 Gypsies Venice papers to create this layout of my grandmother holding my mother.

I used the new Martha Stewart Crafts - Deep Edge Punch - Daisy Fan punch and I love it!  I really like the large design it creates.  The flowers are Prima and are a perfect match to the papers.

I believe the element that really makes this layout stand out is the torn edge on the papers.  I used the Fiskars Tear Tool - Deckle to create the edges.  When I tear them on my own it never seems to come out just right. lol.

Thanks for joining me today.

Scrapbooks Plus Design Team

I mentioned in an earlier post that I had been chosen for the Scrapbooks Plus Design Team.  Scrapbooks Plus is my local scrapbook store.  I am lucky, or cursed, to have a scrapbook store near my home and job.

Today is reveal day of the February featured papers from SEI's Juliette Collection.

This is a gate fold card I designed.  Below you can see the inside of the card.

This is a two page layout I designed using black and pink.  This is one of my favorite color combinations.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Tomorrow I will be featuring more designs from the Swirlydoos February kit.
