Swirlydoos March Kit - Park Avenue

I know that I say this each month, but the April kit from Swirlydoos is beautiful.  It feautures the Life's Portraits collection from Webster's Pages.

There are so many beautiful designs in the papers.  I fussy cut many of the elements including all of the frames and the butterfly.
The green flowers and bling are Prima and are included in the kit.

I used crepe paper to create the pleated trim that surrounds the photo. The main photo and frame are mounted on foam squares for added dimension.

Thanks for joining me today.

Bliss! Swirlydoos March Kit - Butterfly Whispers

I am so sorry to have been away for so long.  I have been battling with my health for a little while, but I think I am finally winning the battle!  Just signs of old age I suppose. Now for the fun stuff!

You can just see the love between these two.  I chose to use beautiful soft pinks and champagne to compliment this gorgeous photo.  This layout did not need lots of flowers or fancies.  I kept the design and embellishments simple.  The star of this show is definitely the photo.

I don't have any fancy tips or tricks that I used with this layout.  I have tried to challenge myself to keep it simple every now and then.  Who knew, sometimes listening to the voice within really works.

Thanks for joining me today.

Prima Prima Everywhere!

Well, you could say that I have a flower addiction.  I recently went on a mini shoppinng spree.  Clothes? Shoes?  No!  Prima flowers!!!

I use Prima flowers on just about every layout I create.  If it isn't the flowers, it's the patterned papers.  I love the new line, it is my favorite!

I removed all of my embellishments from my paper tower and filled it with my new flowers.

Did I mention that I still have more flowers in other boxes?  lol.  It's true.

Hmm, I think this should last for a while...or until the next new release.

Happy crafting!

Cards, Cards, Cards!

The new Lush line from My Mind's Eye is gorgeous!  The colors range from soft and beautiful to bright and bold.  I chose the beautiful blues and elegant blacks from the collection to create this easel card.  The word stamps are from Stampin' Up.

One of my favorite sites to visit is Split Coast Stampers.  In my opinion, they are the leader in card tutorials.  The designs are terrific and the tutorials are easy to follow.

I hand cut the flowers and inked with Adirondak ink in Pool.

Another wonderful line I used this month was from American Crafts' Letterbox Collection.  The crisp clean colors were wonderful to work with to create this card.  I used my Silhouette digital cutter to create the card base.  The brads, ribbon and sentitment sticker are also from the collection.  The cards below were also created using the Letterbox Collection.

I used a pretty Prima flower as the centerpiece of this beautiful easel card.

Thanks for joining me today.

Swirlydoos March Kit - Butterfly Whispers - "Sweet Baby"

This is my favorite layout using the March kit.  This is yours truly in my mother's arms.  Wow, if only life was still this simple and peaceful! lol.

I used my Silhouette to cut the beautiful title.

The title is mounted on the chipboard embellishment with foam squares.  I absolutely love the dimension.

I created faux stitching with a white opaque pen.  There are lots of yummy layers on this one.  I double matted the photo and used my Martha Stewart Crafts "around the page" punch.  I cut a large circle with my scallop edge scissors and inked the edges with Distress Ink in Victorian Velvet.  The polka dotted paper was cut using my Crafter's Workshop template.  I then mounted these elements on the beautiful circle die cut paper from the kit.

I punched circles (5/8") and mounted them on foam squares.  Each circle was inked with Distress Ink in Victorian Velvet.

Thanks for joining me today.

Scrapbooks Plus - March Kit - American Crafts

Clean and crisp is the best way to describe the new Letterbox collection from American Crafts.  These are the papers used in the March DT kit at Scrapbooks Plus.

I used lots of layers and special elements in this layout.  The Martha Stewart Crafts punch added just the right touch.  The kit included a chipboard frame which I used for my journaling spot.  The butterfly is from the new Jenni Bowlin Collection which can be found at the store.

Thanks for joining me today.  If you are in the Northern Virginia area, stop by Scrapbooks Plus in Chantilly to see all  of the beautiful projects from our talented DT.
