French Door Book

Hello everyone!  As promised, here is a photo of the book I created during a recent book binding class I attended.

I love to learn new things.  My local stamping store, Angela's Happy Stamper in Reston, VA, has the most amazing bookbinding classes.  I have always wanted to learn this fascinating art form and I finally took the plunge in February of this year.

For those of you familiar with the coptic stitch, please be easy on me. lol!  This was my first time ever working with this amazing technique.  I don't think I did too badly for a beginner.

Here is a close up of the stitch.  I absolutely love the elegance of the stitch.  We were given plain book board, book cloth and patterned paper for our project.

Here you can see the book cloth.  It is beautiful!  I plan to use it more on my mini album projects.

I hope you have enjoyed taking a peek at my newest endeavor.  It was fun and I hope to take more classes in the near future.

Thanks for joining me today. Feel free to contact me directly with any questions by clicking the "Contact" link at the top of the page.

This is so beautiful Robin! I would love to learn this Coptic Stitch - wish I lived near enough to take that class! Love this French Door Album - it would be so perfect for the mini I am planning to do sometime soon, as soon as I get my head wrapped around all the details :)
