Dream

Hello everyone,

We recently received the new Graphic 45 "Magic of Oz" collection and I have to say it is beautiful!  I had created several projects for my July design team assignment, but since receiving the new collection I have decided to share them with you.

Today I would like to share this 12 x 12 layout featuring the "Once Upon a Springtime" collection.  This is by far one of my faves from Graphic 45.  It is a fussy cutters dream! lol.
I based my layout on my "Sweet Cheeks" layout created in January, 2011.   It is one of my favorite layouts because of the wonderful fairy like border of the paper.

I used quite a few punches to achieve the look above.  Martha Stewart Crafts punches are my number one pick when it comes to craft punches.  The variety of designs in her collection of punches is second to none.  The letters were cut using my Quickutz Revolution die cutting machine.  I created subtle clouds above my photo using a stencil.

Love's Bond

 Hello everyone,

I absolutely loved the colors in the Prima product pick this month.  Here is a look at the beautiful Prima products included in the pick....

"Fresh, summery brights make their way to the Prima Pick this month! These color choices and products are sure to make you HAPPY!"

I created this layout based on the beautiful colors above.  I love this photo and wanted to surround it with lots of beautiful Prima flowers.

I splattered white paint on the lower, right half of my paper.  I didn't want to use patterned paper as I wanted my focal point to be the photo and flowers.

I fussy cut petals from an older Prima collection and placed them between the flowers. It is always good to keep older collections as you never know when they will come in handy. I also did a bit of recycling by using the clear packaging sheet that held my flowers. I cut the designs and placed tucked them under my photo.

Graphic 45 Daring Door Plates

Hello everyone!

I am pleased to bring you another one of my Graphic 45 team projects for June. Graphic 45 has beautiful metal embellishments which includes door plates. There are many uses for these wonderful embellishments and today I will show you how I used one in my design.

Mini books are fabulous and a great alternative to a larger 12 x 12 album. Here I used Bo Bunny’s 9x9 Bare Naked Album and covered it with Graphic 45’s “Once Upon a Springtime” papers.

The book plate was painted with Manila acrylic paint, then sprinkled with white glitter before it was dry. Once dry, I added stickles on the flourishes for extra shine. The door plates are easy to use and attach to your project using brads or glue. I used brads here so there would not be a chance of the plate coming off over the years.

Here are the inside pages of the album:

Album: Bo Bunny 3-Ring Bare Naked Binder 9"x 9"-W/6 Chipboard Pages
Patterned Paper: Once Upon A Springtime
Flowers, Leaves and Stems: Bazzill and Prima
Bling: Prima
Ribbon: May Arts
Door Knob: Graphic 45
Chipboard Word Titles: We R Memory Keepers
Pearl Pen: Viva Decor
White Opaque Pen: Uniball Signo
Punches: Martha Stewart Crafts
Bloomers: Webster's Pages
Dies: Spellbinders
Die Cutting System: Spellbinders
Resin Swag: Melissa Frances
Inks: Ranger Distress Ink
Pearls: Kaisercraft
Doily: We R Memory Keepers

Father's Day Card - Graphic 45

Hello everyone,

I am busy working on all of my July projects. I have some wonderful projects in store for you featuring Graphic 45, Scrap That! Kit club and The Shabby Tea Room. I hope to have sneaks ready for you soon.

Today I would like to share one of my June Design Team projects. During the month of June we celebrate the Dads in our lives. I wanted to make a sophisticated card for my husband. He dresses well, always has the latest men’s fragrance and is just the best in the world. When we were married 20 years ago…coming up on 21!....he wore white tie and tails. When I saw this image from the “A Proper Gentleman” collection, I knew it was made especially for this occasion.

My card design is pretty simple, but the layers and metal embellishments from Graphic 45 take it to the next level.

I used metal hinges and metal flowers to add extra texture to my card. I trimmed the flowers with black Stickles and placed them behind my sentiment. I stamped my sentiment and then I ran it through my die cutting machine using a Spellbinders Fancy Tags die.

Scrap That! June Kit Reveal and Blog Hop!

I am excited to be the guest designer for Scrap That! this month. Let me just say that the "Afternoon Tea" Kit is stunning and features the Ladies and Gents collection from Webster's Pages. I will be sharing two layouts and two cards with you today.

If you have just arrived here from Lisa's blog, you are in the right place.  If  you are one of my wonderful regular visitors, head the the Scrap That!  blog to join the fun!

"Flower Girl" - 12x12 Layout Main Kit

My first layout was made using the June main kit.  I love paper folding techniques and one of my favorites is the accordian fold.  It is easy to do and adds elegance to your layout.  I used the vellum sheets included inthe main kit to create my fan.  I trimmed the edges of my fan using Stickles.

The leaves were cut using my Silhouette digital cutter.  The red trim is cut from the vellum paper included in the main kit.  The vellum sheets are perfect for layering due to their transparency.

"Hello" - Card

My next project is an elegant greeting card made using my Spellbinders Grand Calibur die cutting machine. The main kit has beautiful pearl bling from Zva which I used to add interest and height to my card.

The Ladies and Gents collection has some of the most beautiful designs. I loved this delicate  green pattern and knew I wanted to use it for my background.

"Thinking of You" - Card

This is one of my favorite images from the Ladies and Gents collection.  I punched several strips of cardstock and layered them to create an elegant background for my focal image.  I cut a flourish from patterned paper and matted it on brown card stock.

The beautiful dog and pups were cut from my patterned paper.   I inked the edges with Color Box Chalk ink in Chestnut Brown, then mounted my cut image using foam squares.  I added Baby Blue Stickles to the crown and scalloped design and liquid pearls as accents to complete my design.

June Sketch Layout - "Us"

My last project is a 12 x 12 layout using the June sketch created by L.G. Belarmino.
I used the main kit along with the embellishment add-on.  The flowers included in the add-on are gorgeous.

I used the main kit along with the embellishment add-on. The flowers included in the add-on are gorgeous.  I had fun creating this layout featuring me and my daughter.  I matted the die cut patterned paper with blue card stock which was trimmed with scallop edge scissors.   I incorporated a number of easy techniques to add interest to my page.

I matted the die cut paper from the main kit onto light blue card stock.  Then I trimmed the card stock using scallop edge scissors.  I added pearls using a Pearl Pen (Ice White) to each small scallop.  Next, I punched the edges of my pink patterned paper strip and stitched the edges using white embroidery floss.  To finish my page, I added Stickles to each of the white squares on my patterned paper.  This just further customizes the page.
