Black, gray and dusty rose...what better color combination is there? I used loads of lovely layers and textures to create my card. I mixed patterned paper and embellishments from the "Rossibelle" and "Salvage District" collections which coordinate beautifully.

I am excited to announce that I am now a member of the My Prima Planner design team. I never would have guessed that I would have fallen in love all over again with planning. I have been a planner since high school (many, many, many) years ago and it is so exciting to see how this practice has spread.
They asked us a few questions for the blog, so I thought I would share them here with you.
Q: What is your favorite new planner design from My Prima Planners?
Q: What is your favorite new planner design from My Prima Planners?
A: It is so hard to choose a favorite because they are all so gorgeous. It is a tie between the Frank Garcia with that gorgeous dashboard and the “In the Moment” planners.
Q: When did you first start doing planners?
A: I have done planners in one form or another for over 30 years. I can remember looking forward to each new year so that I could get a new mini calendar from Hallmark when I was a teen. It has been exciting to see this community grow so rapidly over the last few years.
Q: How many planners do you REALLY own?
A: I currently own 8 planners. It took a while to find “planner peace” lol…..Oh heck, who am I kidding, I just love collecting them! I like to switch out my inserts and place them in the planner I happen to love that week.
Q: Which planner accessory do you tend to hoard and not use, but still buy more of?
A: It has to be washi tape. I use it, but not as fast as I hoard it. I recently bought four of one design of washi so that I never run out of it. I will use one roll and hoard the rest. Such an addiction! Thanks for visiting with me today. Please leave me a comment to let me know how you enjoyed your visit.

The Prima Cards & Tags sketch for September is awesome! You can use the sketch for ANY project, although they are perfect for cards and tags, (fondly referred to as CAT.) I used the beautiful "Heaven Sent" collection to turn the sketch into reality.

Sharing my planner spread from last week. It was pretty quiet, but then again, most of my weeks are quiet. My daughter is now an adult so I don't have all of the running around that I used to have when she was younger. All of my little pets are now doing beautifully so we didn't have any vet appointments this week.

Hello Everyone and welcome to week 30!
Can you believe that next week is August?!!!! Whew, the summer is flying by.
I decided to update my planner and give it a fresh, new look. I have so many beautiful stamps, papers and ephemera that I haven't used in ages so I brushed the dust off and put them to work!

I have become a huge watercolor fan in the last few months. Not since elementary school have I had such fun with paints. I have always loved acrylics, but I think I have a new favorite!
I have been using Prima's Watercolor Pencils which offer beautiful, pigment filled colors. I also love the tin that stores the pencils.

Prima has been sharing sneak peeks of their new collections and I am loving the new "Sweet Peppermint" collection and new holiday trims. I used the snowglobe stamp and die set to create the focal point of my card. Using the snowglobe die I created a window to use as a shaker which I filled with sequins and glitter.

The new Rossi Belle collection has an absolutely gorgeous color palette and imagery which I used as inspiration for my card design. I added loads of dimension to my card using new Prima flowers and sweet embellishments from the “Rossi Belle” collection.

I am using Day 12 of the 30 Day Watercolor Challenge as my inspiration. This page is from the Watercolor Coloring Book - 8x10. I used Watercolor Confections - Decadent Pies and Watercolor Pencils - The Basics. I added a different quote to the center of my page "Believe You Can and Your're Halfway There"

The new Julie Nutting stamps offer beautiful range of Halloween themed images. I used the “Bootiful” cling stamp to serve as the focal point of my mixed media tag. Her dress was cut from paper in the new Rossi Belle collection.

For all of us who love shaker cards, you will love the new dies from Prima that allow you to create your own confetti. Here is a look at a fun shaker card I created using the new "Flowers" Confetti die.

It's been a while since I played along with the ladies over at the Mojo Monday challenge site. I found time in the day to create a bright and cheerful card using the current sketch.
I flipped the sketch upside down to create my card.....

MINDY LIGHT-UP PHONE
Welcome to day 2 of the Prima and Chameleon Pens event.
I used a combination of patterned paper and pens to create my “Mindy” image. I decided to add color to the resin butterfly using Chameleon pen color BL3 – Sky Blue. The pen went on easily and added just the right finishing touch.

My favorite Graphic 45 staple has to be the wonderful collection of ivory tags. I use them in layouts, altered projects and tag albums. Today I am sharing a tag duo which features detailed cut images and my favorite medium of liquid pearls.

I love using the Creating in Faith line to create cards. I used the "Better" cling stamp to create the sentiment for my card. I used colored pencils to coordinate the stamp to my patterned papers and flowers. I added a brad and crystals with the floral cluster to add dimension to the design.

It has been an absolutely wonderful year with the Prima design team. The year has flown by so quickly. The experience has been amazing and the talent and kindness I have encountered leaves me speechless. I am going to give it a whirl and try again to have the opportunity to join the 2016-17 team. I have gathered a few of my favorite projects to share to show a bit of my craft style.

The gorgeous product pick for this month served as my inspiration for this sweet Springtime birdcage. I created a custom topper for the birdcage using an IOD Vintage Art Decor Mould - Baroque 3 and paper clay. I filled the inside of the cage with painted eggs and added layers of flowers in the beautiful springtime color palette.

I absolutely love the chalkboard trend that we see everywhere today. This surface has jumped off of the classroom walls into my heart! I used the beautiful new "Family is a Gift" stencil to create a custom chalkboard wall hanging using a chalkboard plaque from my local craft store.
Décor Stencils: "Décor Stencils are going to open up a whole new creative world for you! Use on our watercolor panels, watercolor papers, or Carte Blanche wood plaques for delightful pieces in your style and in your colors! Your design will be absolutely beautiful!"

I love to alter books and the Square Kraft Tag & Pocket Album is my favorite thus far! It has lots of pockets for tags, photos, keepsakes and more! I adorned the outside of the book with images from the “Communique” Deluxe Collector’s Edition. I added rose trim to the spine of my book. I used a colored spray to change the color of the trim from white to black.

This is probably my favorite altered project to date! I used the gorgeous "Gilded Lily" collection by Graphic 45 to altered this fabulous thrift store find. On a recent trip to one of our local thrift stores, I found an old mini rocking chair that had definitely seen better days. I thought it would be fantastic to breathe new life into this piece.

The build-a-page sketch for April is now live on the Prima blog and it is absolutely amazing! While this is not a card sketch, I used it as inspiration to create a pair of layered cards.
Take a look at this gorgeous sketch:

Graphic 45 box staples are perfect for creating trinket boxes and much, much more! I decided to add a bit of whimsy by adding a glass dome. I placed chipboard and images from the “Enchanted Forest” collection inside of the dome to create a 3-D scene.
